Want to help grow the next generation of Diagnostic Genomics Professionals?
We are looking for project proposals from diagnostic laboratories, clinical services, research groups, and industry for students in the Master of Diagnostic Genomics (LS81) at QUT. The dissertation is the program’s capstone unit and requires 300 hours of placement time. We have students entering the unit in February and July each year, but projects can be undertaken at any time. Given our students are located nationwide, we are seeking placement opportunities across Australia.
Projects can be tailored to suit organisational priorities and student goals, with several pathways available. Students can:
  • Work towards HGSA Professional Accreditation in Diagnostic Genomics by completing the five required case studies,
  • Undertake a focused research project,
As part of the assessment process, QUT provides support to help hosts and students scope feasible projects, align deliverables with assessment requirements, and ensure appropriate supervision and governance arrangements.
Hosting a student can contribute to service improvement, workforce development, and research translation, while producing a practical deliverable and helping grow the next generation of Diagnostic Genomics Professionals.
