Training in clinical genetics is conducted under the auspices of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
If you are already a basic or advanced trainee in paediatrics or adult medicine, detailed information about the training program in clinical genetics is available:
Training in clinical genetics may also be possible for doctors with a different background, eg. obstetrics and gynaecology.
Potential trainees from disciplines other than paediatrics and adult internal medicine are advised to make contact with the Coordinator of Advanced Training (CAT) of the Specialist Advisory Committee in Clinical Genetics well in advance of their proposed commencement of training.
