NGS Workshop Summary

The RCPA Genetics Advisory Committee held a workshop on issues that need to be addressed for next generation sequencing (NGS) to be introduced into diagnostic testing in Australia. NGS represents a major shift in the delivery of genetic testing, and it is important that we identify barriers and requirements that must be addressed in its transition into mainstream genetic testing

Health Beyond: The interactive E-health experience

The Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) is launching a new interactive e-health initiative, to be held in conjunction with Australia’s longest running e-health conference HIC 2011.

HealthBeyond is Australia’s first interactive exhibition available to healthcare professionals and consumers allowing visitors to lose themselves in different real life settings, such as GP clinics, hospital, home and aged care. It will showcase the most current innovations in healthcare, including PCEHR (Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record), which is set to revolutionise patient record systems in Australia.

HealthBeyond is a free exhibition aiming to attract more than 10,000 visitors to the event launch in Brisbane, before taking e-health to the masses by way of a 26 city Australia wide roadshow.  Due to the expected amount of visitors at the event and in the interest of growing the relationship between Human Genetics Society of Australasia and HISA, we are extending an invitation for your organisation to be involved in HealthBeyond.
