Presentation Title: UBTF-TD Acute Myeloid Leukaemia
Speaker bio: Niles is a Clinical and Laboratory Haematologist with extended scope of practice for the interpretation of genomic investigations associated with both inherited and acquired haematological conditions. She has a strong interest in improving access to advanced genomic testing for Tasmanian patients with rare diseases. She has implemented and is in the process of implementing innovative genomic technologies at the Royal Hobart Hospital to assist with the diagnosis and management of blood cancers and thalassaemia/haemoglobinopathy. Through her research and international collaborations (ClinGen) Niles is actively involved in the international effort to improve the understanding of how gene mutations lead to haematological cancers.

Speaker name: Jayde Hourigan
Presentation Title: AML, a typical del5q or not
Speaker bio: Muna is a scientist at the Diagnostic Genomic Laboratory at ACT pathology. She has just started her first term studying Master’s of Diagnostic genomics at QUT. She is looking forward to gain more knowledge about cancer genetics and NGS techniques. Muna is also the chair of non-for-profit organisation based here in Canberra aiming to enable ladies and girls to be active members of the community.
